I'm writing this on Sunday evening - it's the lull before the storm. On Friday we spent the day driving to-and-from Heathrow to take our cat and dog to the kennels that are freighting them to Sweden for us. Saturday was the real day, the day we went to Harwich and began the new life.

The drive to Harwich was dull and rather unremarkable, other than the car being so full that rear visibility was impossible, and the ramp from Nigel's parents drive was almost as bad. We got to the port in good time, stopping via a friends to say hello and goodbye, and made arrangements so that Nigel wouldn't be too hindered with his broken leg.

We boarded and made our way to the room, where we flopped. I was tired, as was Nigel, but we decided we'd better get something to eat, so we made our way to the restaurant and got something to eat. We came back, and Nigel started to get cold sweats and feel cold, and I had a horrid feeling about how Sunday was going to turn out! Thankfully by the morning he was fine, and we rested till we pulled into Esbjerg in Denmark. The problem was that between setting off on Saturday evening, and Sunday lunchtime the lift to the car deck had failed. I went to reception to find out what was going happen, as Nigel couldn't get down 4 decks unaided. Three sailors were sent to carry him to the car... Sadly, no photos exist, as I was carrying the bags. If only there had been a fourth one...

TomTom did it's magic and got us safely to Sweden, via the marvelous bridges, the hugely impressive belt and the bridge across the Öresund. By the time we got here, I was shattered, but we're here, and showered, and feel a little more human, ready for the real fun tomorrow, when we complete the purchase of the house and move in.

It may be a few days before we're able to report what happens tomorrow, depending on how quickly Telia manage to do their thing.
