| Explanation It all came about as the result of a thread in rec.autos.sport.f1. The Whitby Street Circuit has two possible layouts. The common layout is in green, whilst the full 6km ALMS circuit is in red, the shorter 4km Grand Prix circuit is in purple. ALMS Circuit The cars start just past the Pier Hairpin on the Lifeboat Straight, and down to the Fish Quay Chicane, then across Bridge and into Church. Then follows the fast East Straight, which takes you down via Harbour Chicane to the Bridge Straight. The Bridge Straight is taken flat out, through the West Loop, through the tricky Bothman's Stadium section, and up to Chilton - a right-left-right flick through to Royal Corner, which goes down to the very tricky downhill Kyber Pass Hairpin, and down to Pier Hairpin and back on to the Lifeboat Straight. Grand Prix Circuit The cars - again - start on the Lifeboat Straight, and down to Fish Quay Chicane, before the Station and Dock corner. Once through that, it is down to the North Loop, and through to Spring Hill, before rejoining the common circuit at Botham's Stadium section and up to Chilton - a right-left-right flick through to Royal Corner, which goes down to the very tricky downhill Kyber Pass Hairpin, and down to Pier Hairpin and back on to the Lifeboat Straight. |
