"I have spent some time getting to know some of the organizations and individuals involved with the gay movement. They are a dynamic and committed group. However, I can't help but feel that, as with all people, there is an element of competition. As a novice new to the fight, I am sure I have naive expectations.

I just feel that so much more could be accomplished if everyone worked together. Aren't we all working toward the same goal? Time and effort are wasted if some work to undermine the accomplishments of others."

The Matthew Shepard death and trial affected me greatly. It came at a very important time in my life, and helped me - in a strange way - to deal with issues in my own life.

I followed the trial, and kept the clippings. I hope that lessons are learnt from his death, and that society has moved on.
