Finally we've got our new satellite dish installed. Our old one got damaged in the high winds 2 years ago, and we've been saving up ever since. So now we are the proud owners of an Andrews 1.8m dish. |

Well, we were starting to think it would never happen, but this week winter has finally arrived.
The weekend was cold, and Sunday morning was dry and cold. First thing, before sunrise, we started on putting the electric fencing up in one of the paddocks ready for the chickens to arrive. We spent ages ensuring everything was working ok, and that the chucks would be fine, we finished rebuilding the run, and prepared it for them to move outside and eat the (now overlong) grass. On Sunday evening, to much protest from the chickens, we put them into their new home.

It's hard to believe that we've been here nearly 6 months, now. The place feels like home and we're really settled.
The last few weeks have seen some cold snaps, but mainly some quite heavy rain. The stream that goes through our land breached the banks and flooded part of the land. |
